Ponte Pià, Italy

Ponte Pià old plant           new plant
Ponte Pià hydro power station in Trentino, a province of the North of Italy, was refurbished through 2002 to 2003, for owner Consorzio Elettrico Industriale di Stenico. The Voith Hydro scope of supply included four new vertical Pelton turbines, respective generators and control and automation system. The power units are grouped by two and each group is fed by an own separate water flow: The two turbines installed on the right side are fed by the waters coming from basins of Duina and Stenico around 150 meters above the powerhouse, while the two turbines on the left side use the waters coming from the basins of Masere and Molini, around 100 meters above the powerhouse. Refurbished, hydro power station Ponte Pià supplies energy for 2,000 households.
