End of the Second World War. Voith lost 422 dead and 154 missing among its employees.

1949
Start of the manufacture of cooling systems for locomotives.
Foundation of the Voith orchestra.

1950
The company is entered in the commercial register as a GmbH (private limited company).
Start of the development of automatic differential torque converter transmissions (Diwabus) for city transit buses.

1951
The first Voith water tractor "Biene" utilizing a Voith-Schneider-Propeller is launched. Construction of the Voith health center with medical baths, sauna and medical services.

1953
Construction of a modern factory for the manufacture of Turbo Transmissions and couplings at Heidenheim.

1956
Foundation of Voith Turbo KG, Crailsheim. The newly built factory is for making fluid couplings. First order of Turbo Transmissions from the USA.
New building for the Materials Testing Department.

1960
New flotation-deinking process for the removal of printing inks from wastepaper.
Development of the retarder, first application in 4 000 HP locomotives in the USA.

1961
Foundation of Voith Getriebe KG, Heidenheim.
Delivery of Europes largest newsprint machine with a wire width of 8.3 meters to Ahlstroem in Warkaus, Finland.
A research center for the Paper Machinery and Marine Technology Divisions is built.
First Voith variable speed turbo coupling built in Crailsheim.

1963
Construction of a workshop at Garching near Munich for series-production of automatic transmissions for buses and construction vehicles.
First geared variable speed fluid coupling at Crailsheim.
Construction of a tank for ship model experiments.

1964
Delivery of Kaplan turbines with highest heads worldwide.

1965
Founding of the Voith S.A. subsidiary in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
First Turbo Reversing Transmission for shunting locomotives.

1966
Order for the world's largest newsprint machine with a wire width of 9 meters by Holmens Bruks paper mill in Hallstavik, Sweden.
Order from the USA for the largest Pelton turbines of the world, output 226 000 HP.
Order for four Francis turbines by Estreito in Brazil with an output of 226 000 PS.

1967
100th anniversary. Number of employees in Heidenheim: 7 500.

1968
Voith retarder for coaches.
First Zentrimatic coupling from Crailsheim.

1971
Beginning of series-manufacture of hydrostatic high-pressure pumps at Garching.
